INGRIDIENTS:

500 grams of softened butter or margarine

1 large egg

2 cups of icing sugar, sifted for a smoother texture

8 cups of all-purpose flour, measured carefully

1cup of canola or vegetable oil, for added moisture and richness










METHOD:

1. In a large mixing bowl, cream the softened butter and icing sugar together until the mixture is light, fluffy, and a pale golden color. This step is crucial as it incorporates air for a tender texture.


2. Add the egg and the vegetable oil to the bowl, and continue mixing at high speed until all the ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth.


3. Gradually incorporate the flour, adding one cup at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. You’ll know it’s ready when a soft dough forms, pulling away from the sides of the bowl.


4. Lightly flour your work surface and roll out the dough to your desired thickness. Use a biscuit cutter to shape the cookies into your preferred forms.


5. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius and carefully place the biscuits on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake them for approximately 12-15 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.


6. Once baked, allow the biscuits to cool on a wire rack before enjoying their buttery, melt-in-your-mouth goodness.
