BOLOGNESE SAUCE
This ground beef sauce goes with everything! It’s one of those recipes that you learn how to make and adjust to match whatever is in your pantry. You can pair this with so many starches, but today its pasta. You can use any pasta shape of your choice. Bolognese recipe below.

INGREDIENTS:

1 Tbsp Cooking Oil

1 Kg Ground Beef

1 Onion, diced

1 Tbsp Crushed Garlic

50g Tomato Paste

1 Cup Red Wine or ½ Cup Beef Stock

350g Tomato Passata or 1 Can Tomato Puree

1 Can Diced Tomatoes

1 Tbsp Sugar

Salt and Ground Black Pepper






METHOD:

1. In a large pan, heat the cooking oil on medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned, no more pink bits in the ground beef. Remove from pan and set aside.

2. Transfer the excess oil from the cooked ground beef and add back to pan. Add onions to the pan and cook until translucent.

3. Add crushed garlic and tomato paste to the pan, cook until garlic is fragrant and tomato paste is darkened.

4. If using red wine, add wine to the pan and bring to a boil, lower the heat, and cook for an additional 5 minutes. If using beef stock, add the stock.

5. Add the tomato passata, can of diced tomato, sugar, salt and black pepper. Stir together then add the ground beef.

6. Cover and cook for 45 minutes on low heat, stirring the Bolognese sauce occasionally.

7. Enjoy your BOLOGNESE SAUCE.
