Chocolate Caramel Peanut Butter Pretzel Bars

Ingredients:

For the base:

2 cups pretzels, crushed

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

½ cup peanut butter

¼ cup brown sugar, packed

For the caramel layer:

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 teaspoon salt

For the chocolate topping:

1 ½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

Instructions:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8x8-inch baking dish with parchment paper or lightly grease it.

In a bowl, combine crushed pretzels, melted butter, peanut butter, and brown sugar. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

Bake the base for 10 minutes, then remove from the oven and set aside to cool slightly.

For the caramel layer, melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in brown sugar and sweetened condensed milk. Bring to a boil while stirring constantly. Once it boils, reduce heat and let it simmer for 5–7 minutes until it thickens slightly. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.

Pour the caramel mixture over the pretzel base and spread evenly.

For the chocolate topping, melt chocolate chips and butter together in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring in between, until smooth and fully melted.

Pour the melted chocolate over the caramel layer, spreading evenly.

Refrigerate the bars for at least 2 hours or until the chocolate has set.

Once set, slice into bars and serve.
